Burgess Hill Rumble 2008

Set in the scenic countryside of West Sussex, with good transport links, Burgess Hill is a cycle friendly town which has easy access to the North Downs, South Downs and Ashdown Forest.
The Burgess Hill Rumble is a new Cyclosportive which starts and finishes in the town centre. Three options are available to allow riders of all abilities to explore the Weald and achieve their personal goals.
- The Classic: a ride of 95 miles which passes over climbs such as Kidds Hill and Yorks Hill. The course will prove a great test for experienced riders as they travel over some of the hardest hills in the Weald There is over 1971m of climbing on this course. On-line web entry for The Classic costs 19.95GBP This should only be attempted by experienced sportive riders used to rides of eight hours or more.
- The Challenge: a ride of 65 miles which also takes riders over Kidds Hill.A sporting course with 1378m of climbing will challenge the entrants fitness and determination. On-line web entry costs 19.95GBP. A good team event. It's achievable, but needs work!
- The Tour: a ride of 20 miles is for those that want something more relaxed but still want to enjoy the razmattaz of the Burgess Hill Rumble Town centre community event. On-line web entry for the Tour ride costs 9.95GBP. Pause a while, enjoy the view and the company.
The routes will be comprehensively marked and marshals deployed at strategic junctions. Four feeding stations will be provided on The Classic, three on The Challenge and one on The Tour route. Technical and First-Aid support will be provided en-route and a 'broom wagon' will ensure that all riders return!
The Headquarters for the event are at the Oakmeads Community College in Burgess Hill where signing on starts at 7.30am. Changing rooms with showers are available and post event food will be supplied along with Physiotherapy and sports Therapist services.
Entry on the day will be available too if there are places left, at a cost of 24.95GBP for the Classic and Challenge rides and 14.95GBP for the Tour ride. Be warned that there is a maximum field of 300 riders and places are filling up fast.
