Welcome to the 2nd Ride the Route based on all the best bits of the Tour Of Britain routes through the County of Worcestershire, in 2007 and 2008. This year guys from Wheels in Wheels CC have added to the tests the Pro's will have to endure with their own route, which the Tour wouldn't go up. The "Challenge" will add several new climbs and one "Killer Option" that we only suggest you try if you have good walking shoes. This year the start and finish this year at Worcester Racecourse with an easy run out of the City and a cycle route finish avoiding all the traffic.
Also on the programme is a Family ride around the City to encourage cyclists of the future and those who want to spend a pleasant day in the saddle, without the distance.
This year again the Malvern climbs and of course Ankerdine are part of the route as well as Stanford Bank and a trip out to Tenby Wells with another 6 climbs are to master before riders get to the "Killer Option-The Hill" Abberley, followed by 4 more before returning to Worcester.
There will be 2 FEED points and 2 DRINKS at 38m,50m, 66m and 73 miles again offering HIGH5 products, fruit and cakes.
Entries are available online only at 25GBP for the 92 mile Challenge. The Free Family ride can be entered by downloading an entry form from the event website.
2GBP of your entry fee will go to the organisers' favoured Charity, the Marie Curie Cancer Care again.
The HQ will be the centre of the Racecourse and parking is free and plentiful with refreshments at the end of the ride. There will be a full photography service to record your efforts and timing will be available for those who wish to know how long it took to hurt their legs. The ride sponsors are supplying a very generous goody bag and as entries are limited to the 400 early entry is recommended.
