Evans Ride it Winter Series Dates Announced

Ride It! - the nationwide series of organised sportive road and off-road rides run by Evans Cycles has announced a new set of dates and locations for the winter season.
Above and Below: The Ride It Series incorporates great off-roading and on road riding.
Running since March this year the series aims to take the hassle out of weekend riding for the UK's mountain bikers and road cyclists. The Ride It! team research riding areas, mark out up to four routes and provide riders with a Memory Map OS map to assist with navigation - all riders have to do is turn up and Ride It!
"The format has been really popular during the summer with upwards of 300 riders taking part in the events." says Event Manager Dean Stacey. "We're expecting a big take up of the winter events as well, most events go into hibernation over the winter, but not us we're there to keep our customers wheels spinning over the cooler months."
As well as offering pre-marked routes, ranging from 12-35 miles for mountain bike events and 15-70 miles for sportive road events, every ride it event includes:

- Demo bikes
Night Rides
New for this winter, the Ride It! series features an off-road Night Ride at selected events.
Supported by Exposure Lights, the rides start after the usual day rides (between 3pm & 4pm) riders set off on the short (12-15 mile) route in the dwindling light of dusk and are soon plunging into darkness as they enter the woods. Riders follow the reflective arrows around the pre-marked course before returning to the event centre for a hot mug of tea.
"Night riding is an exhilarating experience, and our rides allow both experienced night-riders and those that a new to this form of mountain biking to take part in a controlled environment.
Riders can bring their own lights, or reserve a set of our high-powered USE Exposure off-road lights to use for the evening" says Dean.

Ride It! @ the TCR Show
For 2009 Ride It! comes to the Triathlon, Cycling & Running Show on the 7th & 8th of February at Sandown Park, Esher, Surrey.
This unique location, 30 minutes from Central London offers riders some exciting routes taking in the North Downs and extending out to the lanes and trails of Surrey.
Come for the ride, stay for the show! The TCR show features a mix of exhibits from leading brands and retailers, seminars and workshops, races, competitions and more. Riders can purchase a discount combined Ride It! / Show entry from the Evans Cycles website.

Gore Bike Wear will be at all Ride It! events with their try before you buy service offering riders their choice of hundreds of Windstopper and GoreTex garments to use for the ride free of charge.
"It's surprising how busy we've been in the summer" says Jon Pettifor from Gore. "But it's the winter rides that our garments are going to come into their own so we're expecting big demand at the these events".
