Date: 7th December 2008

A cracking 57 mile festive treat that'll help you shed a few pounds ahead of the inevitable Christmas pig-out - and here's the best bit - Fancy dress optional, christmas pudding compulsory!!

The event starts and finishes at Cartmell Village Hall, South Lakes and heads north via Grizedale Forest, Hawkshead and Ambleside before the feed stop at Grasmere. From Grasmere the route climbs 'Red Bank' to warm up following the feed stop, descends to Skelwith Bridge and returns south via back lanes on the eastern shore of Lake Coniston.

Christmas_Pudding_200The roads and route are picturesque and there are a few hills to challenge the fittest riders. Back at Cartmel village hall there is free Christmas pudding for all riders. Fancy dress is optional. Now, just need to find that Santa Claus skinsuit...
