20080629_dave_lloyd_mega_challenge_200Living legend and Ex-Pro cyclist Dave Lloyd gives you the chance to try your hand on the roads he has trained on for many years.

It promises three challenging routes, the 150 mile "MEGA" route and the "MIDI" route of 100 miles and the "MINI" route of 70 miles to suit all abilities. These routes take in all or some of these famous climbs: Bwlch Pen Barass, The Shelf, Horse Shoe Pass, Worlds End, Moel Arthur, The Cerrig "Road to Hell", Blwch-y-Groes, and finally the "Stingers".

The "MEGA" route is 150 miles with just over 5,000 metres of climbing. Ideal for those improving their form for the Etape du Tour, La Marmotte or other top European Sportives.

New for 2009 is the "MIDI" route. It's just over 100 miles with just over 3,500 metres of climbing. It allows riders with a range of abilities to participate. This also allows riders who are outside the time limit at lake Bala to continue and finish the challenge and receive a time for the MIDI route

The "MINI" route is over 70 miles with 2,185 metres of climbing. The route is designed for cyclists riding shorter to middledistance events of 50/60 miles, looking to set themselves a significant challenge next summer.
