York Cycle Show Dates Confirmed

Over 10,000 pedal cyclists from across the UK and beyond, will gather on York's racecourse over the weekend of June 21st and 22nd for the 2008 York Cycle Show.
At the first event in 1945, a few hundred pedallers gathered in a post-war celebration of cycling. Since then it has grown to become a major national and international event.
Highlights of the 2008 Show include:

- - Two huge trade and exhibition marquees featuring the latest bargains in bikes of all types, a try out area, plus clothing and accessories.

- - Championship racing, vintage bike displays, cycling polo and demonstrations in the Show arena.

- - The CTC Ron Kitching Challenge Ride and day touring rides into local countryside.

- - Stunt mountain bike show four times a day.

- On Sunday 22nd June, an 0900 cyclists' service in York Minster is followed by a parade of 1,000 cyclists returning to the racecourse via the city centre from 0945.

- - On-site children's and evening entertainment

- - Over 1000 camping and caravan pitches.

Paul Hepworth of York who chairs the organising Committee said "We have planned another fascinating weekend festival of pedal power, for cyclists from across the UK and beyond. York residents and visitors are equally welcome to come along."
