Why Regsiter? | Organiser Resources

Make your event an Everyday Cycling eventAre you in the process of organising a non-competitive bike event? Unsure of how to go about it? Everyday Cycling can help you set up, organise and promote your event as well as making sure that the necessary safeguards are in place to protect you and your participants.

Why register your event with Everyday Cycling?

  • Our Brand New Online Entry System - With the help of our custom online entry system, you can upload and manage your event and let us deal with all aspects of the online event promotion and entry process. To download our info  leaflet outlining the features and benefits of the system, click here. Or, to download the full guide go here.
  • Insurance - The main benefit of registering a non-competitive cycling event with British Cycling/Everyday Cycling is the provision of Third Party and Public Liability insurance. Any event registered through Everyday Cycling is covered by £10 million of insurance cover for ALL officials, and most importantly ALL participants. This provides any promoting organisation and organiser with increased confidence throughout the promotion of their event.
  • Promotion for your event - It will enable Everyday Cycling to create a calendar of such rides working with organisers where possible to avoid date clashes with similar events in adjacent areas of the country, and it will allow Everyday Cycling to publicise a calendar that will in turn drive participation to such events.
  • Quality Assured - Registered events will provide potential participants with a level of confidence that they are entering an event that is in effect 'quality assured' by British Cycling/Everyday Cycling and is being run under their rules and regulations.

In the past, events have been promoted by traditional cycling clubs and more recently sponsored teams. Nowadays the promotion of non-competitive cycling events are becoming ever more popular with many local authorities and charities organising a varied programme of non-competitive cycling events. As a governing body, British Cycling encourages the promoting organisation to register with British Cycling in the first instance. There are two levels of registration:

  • Commercially Named Event Promoters - £165 per year
  • Organisers / Local Authority/Charity promoters £82.50 per year

This form is to be completed and sent to British Cycling HQ along with the appropriate fees, where the form is processed and the promoting organisation is then considered an affiliated organisation of British Cycling. N.B This can be sent together with the Everyday Cycling registration form.

Step 2 - Download and read the British Cycling regulations for organising a non-competitive event.

Click here to download a copy of the rulebook >>>>

The cycling for all regulations is held within the Track & Road Racing Rulebook and can be found in the appendix 92-93.

Any queries regarding these regulations please contact the events department on 0161 274 2020.

Currently the cost of insurance stands at £60 per 100 participants or part thereof. (101 participants would cost £80.00)

Once received and processed the event with all the provided details will then placed on the Everyday Cycling website.

Once the event has taken place organisers are to send copies of the Everyday Cycling signing on sheets and any outstanding insurance levy to the membership department at British Cycling.
