Helpers Required for Leeds-Liverpool Canal Charity Ride

The annual 'Leeds to Liverpool' charity cycle ride takes place from 14-16 September and the charity Heart Research UK is asking for help recruiting experienced local volunteers to guide the riders on the road sections of the route.
It is not possible to cycle the entire 127 mile length of the canal and, as such, organisers have provisionally plotted a route that combines parts of the towpath, sections of the National Cycle Network and other known cycle routes, including a cross-country route towards Hebden Bridge and, where necessary, local roads.
Deano Mills, Fundraising Development Officer for Heart Research UK said: "It would be enormously helpful if, over the weekend, we had a number of volunteers who were not only proficient cyclists but who also had some useful local knowledge, who could travel with the party and act as marshals."
If you've got what it takes and are willing to help a very worth cause, contact Deano Mills on 0113 234 7474, 07954 785 727 or deano@heartresearch.org.uk.
