Everyday Cycling On Tour!
The Tour of Britain, UK's biggest international road race, makes its return in September and is searching for volunteers to help it replicate the success of previous years.
The 2008 event is bigger and better than ever before, with the eight day stage race visiting fifteen host venues around Great Britain. GB's top name racing heroes, such as Mark Cavendish and Geraint Thomas, will be competing against the crème de la crème of the world's road racers on a route that makes its 'grand depart' on the 7th September from central London, before racing through the South East, the South West, then up to the West Midlands before heading to Yorkshire, the North East and then crossing the Scottish border on the penultimate day before the big finish in Liverpool ? the European Capital of Culture - where the winner will be crowned on the 14th September.
The Tour of Britain relies upon its volunteers to make this event as legendary as it is. The only thing you need to volunteer is basic common sense: your role as a marshal will involve making sure that spectators stay clear of the road, managing crossing points, making sure cars don't get onto the route and acting as an information point for spectators.
If you want to be involved in Great Britain's road race event of the year, log on to http://www.tourofbritain.com/volunteer_pages/volunteer.asp now to register your interest. Registration closes on the 30th August 2008.
