Event Report: Bike Around Brands 2008

This just in from the event organisers of Bike Around Brands, a charity event around the illustrious Brands Hatch motor racing circuit, which took place on 15th August.
"206 riders took part which was 69 more than last year, and the sponsorship money pledged was 5200GBP, a splendid 2200GBP more than last year and a record for this, our third running of the event. We are of course indebted to the Management of Brands Hatch circuit for their support and after expenses, Brands hire fee, medal purchase, advertising and printing costs it is anticipated that some 4300GBP will be available to be shared between the local hospice, the Lions Hospice at Northfleet, and other deserving local causes. Of course none of this would be possible without the support of the cyclists and on behalf of the President and members of Swanley & North Downs Lions Club I offer them thanks for taking part."

Excellent event, well-run and very enjoyable. I went along with my 2 sons and some fellow Woolwich CC members and their children. Everyone looking forward to next year's event.
