Pedal Power used to deliver Packages and Parcels in Birmingham

20090422_cycle_4_uStartup eco-couriers "Cycle 4 U" has only recently launched but is already attracting business from a number of well known Birmingham companies.

Using a fleet of customised trailers towed by bicycles, Cycle 4 U are able to carry "loads more" than a regular push-bike whilst being a pollution-free alternative to traditional van freight delivery.

"There has been massive enthusiasm around the project, with bicycles being a green and fast way to transport goods around the city" said Steve Young, Operations Supervisor. "With many companies feeling the squeeze of the recession, Cycle 4 U can reduce courier costs whilst not being subject to parking restrictions, congestion, or future rises in fuel prices"

Their ability to transport up to 35 kgs (approx 3 crisp boxes) in a sustainable fashion will provide major environmental benefits in terms of air quality, carbon output, and pedestrian safety in the Birmingham area.

Cycle 4 U undertakes both ad-hoc collections and also daily / weekly planned pickups to a multitude of clients throughout Birmingham.

With dedicated freight bike services already operating in London, Manchester and Cardiff, it's now time for Birmingham to join the eco-velorution!
