Register with Everyday Cycling in 3 Easy Steps

Step 1 - Contact British Cycling for your Free Bronze Membership

In the past, events have been promoted by traditional cycling clubs and more recently sponsored teams. Nowadays the promotion of non-competitive cycling events is becoming ever more popular with many local authorities, charities, committed individuals, groups and commercial operators.  Everyday Cycling is a programme of British Cycling, the national governing body of cycling in Great Britain and as such we'd like to give all non competitive event organisers the opportunity to become Bronze British Cycling members, simply by calling Membership on 0161 274 2010.

Step 2 - Get to know the rules

Take a few minutes to familiarise yourself with our guidelines for running non competitive events. Putting these rules into practice helps to ensure that your event is a safe and enjoyable experience for all concerned.

Any queries regarding these regulations please contact the events department on 0161 274 2020.

Step 3 - Register Your Event

At the same time as completing your organiser registration, you should complete your event registration form, which enables us to register, insure and promote your event.

Currently the cost of insurance stands at 60GBP per 100 participants or part thereof. (i.e. 101 participants would cost 120.00GBP)

Download the Event Registration Form

This form should be completed and sent to British Cycling Headquarters, along with the appropriate fee. (Please provide as much information and details as possible to allow us to promote your event as effectively as possible)

Once received and processed the event with all the provided details will then placed on both the Everyday Cycling and British Cycling websites.

Once the event has taken place organisers are to send copies of the Everyday Cycling signing on sheet and any outstanding insurance levy to the membership department at British Cycling. If the number of riders on the day was less than anticipated, British Cycling will refund the appropriate amount.

However, if you choose to use our Everyday Cycling Online Entry System, then there is no need to complete the registration form or send us a cheque in advance! Your event will be registered when you submit your event on line and insurance levies will be automatically deducted from your event revenue before funds are transferred to your account.

What Happens Next?

Event verification - Non-competitive event organisers will receive an event verification notice once this process has been completed, normally within 7 working days of receiving the registration

  • Rider registration - Your event is then ready to start accepting riders either via the Everyday Cycling Online Entry System or via cheque.
  • Event promotion - Your event is promoted on the British Cycling and Everyday Cycling websites
  • Everyday Cycling promotion - Leaflets are available upon request for distribution to your participants. This helps us to engage with your riders and to keep them coming back to yours and other Everyday Cycling events. These could be included in your registration packs or made available at signing on.

Note: Everyday Cycling will advertise events that are not registered with Everyday Cycling/British Cycling but those events will be clearly differentiated indicating that the event is not registered and as such does not qualify for the benefits listed above.
